The court declared the applications ineffective and scheduled May 7 for the hearing of the main appeals.

A division bench, led by Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, ruled that since the main appeals were already fixed for hearing, there was no need to separately consider the suspension of sentence requests. The court emphasized that the merits of the case cannot be examined at the suspension stage and should instead be addressed during the main appeal proceedings.

The £190 million case is linked to the Al-Qadir Trust, a welfare organization established in 2018. Authorities allege that the trust was used as a front to receive valuable land in exchange for financial adjustments involving repatriated funds from the United Kingdom. However, Imran Khan has consistently denied all allegations, stating that neither he nor Bushra Bibi gained any financial benefit.

In a separate development, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted a challan in the prohibited funding case against the PTI founder and others, alleging foreign funding and financial irregularities.

Meanwhile, the court also addressed concerns regarding Bushra Bibi’s health and prison conditions. It directed Adiala Jail authorities to decide within two days on a request filed by her daughter seeking access to a personal physician and family meeting. The court has also summoned the jail superintendent for further clarification.

Additionally, the IHC heard a petition related to blocking Imran Khan’s account on X (formerly Twitter) and sought responses from relevant parties.

This case remains one of the most significant legal and political developments in Pakistan, with major implications for the country’s political landscape.
