The European bullhead (Cottus gobio)
Lab experiments have shown that bullheads will actually develop an attachment to a favourite stone, next to which they can consistently be seen.
They were found to return to the original location of this stone if it was moved and would even reliably select it when presented with other options.
Footage filmed in Delamere Forest, Cheshire.
