In France, an ultralight aircraft can legally fly without transponder, but is then quite restricted in airspaces. The aircraft owner can modify and maintain his machine himself, being however entirely liable and responsible for its condition.
The system is based on self declaration and self control.
(modestly) Inspired by Edgar Wright and Bref style, I try installing a transponder in my Ultralight aircraft Guepy. Making holes eveywhere!
