I’m unfit… but that didn’t stop us from trying to cycle Japan’s famous Shimanami Kaido, 70km, across 7 bridges, connecting Onomichi to Imabari across Japan’s Seto inland sea. This was one of the most beautiful (and painful) rides of my life.
We battled weather, dead batteries, and lactic acid, but thankfully we had the foresight to stay overnight at a guesthouse on Ōmishima, ensuring we were able to stop and take it all in, before pushing through to the finish line in Imabari. This is different to my usual travel vlogs, it’s a challenge, and a reminder of why we travel slow… (especially slow in my case)
I'd say this cycle isnt on everyone’s itineraries, but it should be.
