Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal
Developed at a cost of Rs 608 crore, over an area of 61-acre, in Purba Medinipur District of West Bengal under Jal Marg Vikas Project, Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal has a cargo handling capacity of 3.07 MMTPA. It connects Varanasi through NW-1 and entire North-eastern region with the rest of the country through IBP Route and NW-2 & NW-16
Community Jetties
Under visionary leadership of @PMOIndia, over 60 community jetties are being developed in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand & West Bengal. The jetties will be vital to improving livelihoods of locals by providing logistical solutions for economic activities in the hinterlands of river Ganga.
The jetties will provide direct access to the nearest market and generate employment opportunities to the local people. It will also boost the tourism industry and the small-scale industries in the hinterlands.
