This is a narrated video of a walk through the Stanley Park Community Garden.
The garden is a collaboration of the Stanley Park Ecology Society, Vancouver Parks Board, and the West End Residents Association. Residents of the West End apply and are given individual plots in this garden. It can take years to get a plot here!
The garden is located just off of Lagoon Drive at the end of Robson Street next to the tennis courts and very near to Lost Lagoon.
The garden has a crushed gravel path for you to walk on and it takes only a couple of minutes to walk around it unless you stop to smell and enjoy the flowers!
In this video you will see the garden around it's peak time which is May through September.
This garden is a unique community garden because the gardeners are not allowed to plant vegetables because of the wild life (squirrels, skunks, coyotes, and other animals) that live in Stanley Park. However, we think some people may have planted edible flowers!
Along the way in this video you will see someone put up a pollinator house for mason bees and other insects. Also, you will see some bees collecting pollen from some flowers. There are also some bird houses.
There are a few benches and seats for you to sit on if you want to sit and enjoy the garden.
We love the many different colors and types of flowers in this garden.
