Muela Rhino Bushcraft Hunting Knife review and test English Language. Muela Rhino knife using Sandvik's latest alloy steel 14C28N designed specifically for high end knife manufacture. The Rhino is a great fixed blade knife at around 3.5 inches of 61 HRC cutting edge. It is a flat grind so this edge can take some beating .
The Rhino has very very ergonomic micarta scales fixed by stainless steel pins, this knife rocks for wilderness camping activities. Thumb gimping on this model can also be used to strike a fire steel. Muela is a great Spanish brand of knives often overlooked by the US and UK market. I'll be doing more reviews here soon.
You can compare this sub 100 EUR knife with the Strider MFS, Falkniven F1 and you will see the value for money as this knife also comes with a lifetime warranty, very ergonomic handle of black micarta scales and an excellent leather sheath/scabbard that can be attached to a belt either vertically or in the horizontal position.
Batoning seasoned hazel nut and hawthorn was no trouble for this 4mm thick/1/8inch thick flat ground blade.
I'd go as far to say this is good knife to take out hunting and camping even if you have to dress out medium size game, plus being very useful around the campsite.
By the way what I mean by "light weight Batoning" is not trying to split really huge logs. You can of course with a small bladed knife but it is a bit more time consuming than using a 7" chopper. See this video
