After driving to Hatyai and Songkhla via Danok a couple of months ago, we decided to take another car trip to Thailand, this time using the Wang Kelian, Perlis border instead. Koh Lipe is an island west of Satun province, and the easiest way to get there is by speedboat from Pak Bara Pier.
The boats leave at 11.30am Thai time, so we decided to drive across the border the day before to get there early and also explore the southern tip of this amazing country. The drive itself was relaxing and there was no crowd at Immigrations or Customs.
We checked into a homestay called Baan Suan Tondin which we booked earlier, had a couple of good meals the first day then departed in the morning for Pakbara Pier to our boat. We had also booked our speedboat tickets earlier online.
In this first part, I will show you how our trip went with the kids in tow, and how we ate well at stalls, restaurants and 7-Elevens! We also had the renowned 5 Star Chicken for brunch! Part 2 will be coming soon!
