I tested something that most people don’t think is possible, making the DJI Avata behave like a DJI Neo by following me in third person. The DJI Avata doesn’t officially have a follow mode, but I wanted to see if I could recreate that smooth, cinematic self-tracking shot using FPV flying instead. This FPV drone video shows how I followed myself in real time using the DJI Avata, creating a third-person drone shot that looks similar to what the DJI Neo and Neo 2 are known for. Seeing an FPV drone perform a follow-style shot like this is rare, and the result felt surreal and cinematic.
