And one more tune to ring in the New Year with ... like my "Never Give A Puppy" or the "Most Unwanted Song", this particular iconic number is explicitly holiday-agnostic (ok, those are pan-holiday -- this one just says "whatever you're celebrating, we're here for it" more like the BEP's "I Gotta Feeling", but less Hebraic) ... looking back, that must have been a supremely canny business move, since a Christmas song only gets played at Christmas and not on St. Patrick's, Labour Day, etc. This one gets played at all of those plus weddings and graduations! I like to think of it as the official theme song of Kwanzaa that's broken out of its pen and is running rampant rogue at all the other celebrations.
I rather hope you have something grander to provide the soundtrack to your festivities tonight, but if not... it's (maybe) better than nothing!
