Every year, throughout December, the Glenbrook Vintage Railway hosts their annual "Christmas Lights Trains at Night" event. The event sees Glenbrook Station covered in beautiful Christmas lights, and a recent addition, two trains running simultaneously.
In previous years, the GVR have only operated one train on their line, but with increased demand and passenger numbers, have decided to operate a second train on KiwiRail's National Network to Mission Bush and return. This makes for an interesting scene where one train arrives into Glenbrook Station as one departs.
We set out to film these two services, on the 20th and 22nd of December. All locations were accessed with proper permission from the appropriate parties.
