Fakemink just dropped “The Boy Who Cried Terrified”, and in this video I go full deep dive mode 🕳️🎧
If you already know Mink, you know the energy. Born and raised in Basildon, Fakemink has quietly carved out a sharp lane in the UK rap scene, and this new 7-track, 14-minute EP feels like a preview window into the sound and aesthetic of his upcoming full-length album.
I break the project down track by track, talking about the blown-out bass, ethereal leads, chaotic moments, and where the EP hits or misses for me. From the speaker-shaking opener “Blow The Speaker”, to the wild choices on “dumb”, the production standout “Mr Chow”, and my personal favorite “Milk & Honey”, this review covers it all. I also touch on how this project compares to London Saviour and why this version of Mink feels more like a stepping stone than a full arrival.
Overall thoughts? A solid EP with flashes of brilliance, but not quite living up to the expectations I had going in. I land around a 6/10, and explain why.
Tap in, let me know your favorite track, and tell me if this sound is the Fakemink you want more of 👀⬇️
