On September 16, 2014, the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy held its annual Financial Markets Quality conference (FMQ).
The second panel answered the following questions:
-What do academic studies say about market quality? This session will survey and discuss many recent studies. Are we examining the right metrics?
-What evidence is there about the impact of dark pools, high frequency trading, algorithmic trading, and new trading technology on market quality?
-What is the role of pilot studies like the upcoming tick pilot?
-If market quality is so good, as some studies suggest, why is there so much controversy?
