Описание: Korean food is currently enjoying the limelight. More and more, I have become unintentionally knowledgeable about Korean bbq, kimchee, Korean rice cakes, bubbling cauldron soup bowl, and KPOP. Well, that last one isn't so edible, but you catch my drift. I remember becoming friends with a lovely Korean girl in Australia. She invited me over to her parents' home where her mother made enough kimchee for an ARMY. It was stored in a loooooong Tupperware container that reminds me of The Container Store's long boots plastic storage bins. Inside, I saw a heaping pile of cabbage lathered in a beautiful deep red spicy marinade. From the first taste, I had to have kimchee in my life.

Even as a student back then in Australia, I made it a point to buy quality kimchee at the closest Korean market from my uni (university) and lugged it home. It was at least 20 pounds (9kg) of kimchee!! Every night after my classes, after a whole day's comings and goings, dealing with studying and socializing with friends, I would look forward to a cold comforting bowl of kimchee as a snack. There were nights that I had to briskly walk home from the train station for a good 15-20 minutes. I always knew that kimchee was waiting for me. Bon appétit! 😋
