Di Laif is the project of Diego, a producer, DJ, and sound engineer from Antigua, Guatemala, living in Paris since a few years.

Usually associated with organic sounding downtempo like his releases on Shika Shika, he also explores darker and faster territories, always with warmth. For this EP, 1992, he went for a clubbier sound, crafting different blends of his rhythmic culture with elements from the european rave sound, from techno to trance & bass music.

Using analog hardware and his broad musical experience, Diego wanted to give a form to his feelings of the last years : being on a new continent yet feeling at home, far from his original family but fascinated by the freshness of discovering new things.

Ritmo Caderas in an ode to latin rave with an unmistakable Di Laif touch. Tight 909 syncopated kicks, reptilian basslines, congas and dynamic Latin vocal samples. A track that pulls you straight into a sweaty dance floor.

In Nmwmwr, progressive, psychedelic and groove-driven modular melodies intertwine with massive kicks ready to detonate on sound systems. Constantly evolving and breathing, this track feels as alive as a snake.

Electromental has a funky latin reptilian merengue energy, a futuristic approach of tropical sounds for a late-night rave. Deep 909 kicks, morphing basslines, forward-thinking textures and a groovy vocal with sharp syncopated accents that keeps your body locked into the rhythm.
