It's not enough to just shake your new package bees into their new box. It's important to make sure that the queen was released because she is crucial to the colony's survival.
On top of that, you will need to feed your new bees for at least 2 weeks a 1:1 sugar syrup mixture; that's 1-pound of sugar to 1-pound of water. Use hot tap water, never boil because boiling creates a toxin that you do not want to introduce to your bees.
