According to AsIAm's Same Chance Report 2025, the most significant barrier to inclusion for Autistic people is the public's lack of understanding about communication differences.
In light of this, AsIAm collaborated with Microsoft to host a free Lunch & Learn webinar on the topic of Autism – Separating Fact from Fiction.
Introduced by AsIAm CEO Adam Harris and co-hosted by AsIAm Training Manager Caitlin Cruise and Microsoft Dream Space’s Michael Barrett, this session tackles common myths and misconceptions, focusing on:
Increasing understanding of what Autism is, and the barriers that exist in society.
Challenging myths with evidence-based facts.
Exploring inclusive practices for workplace environments.
Developing practical strategies for effective support in both everyday and professional settings.
This Lunch & Learn took place as a special part of the 14th Autism Europe Congress, which AsIAm proudly hosted in Dublin in September 2025. As Ireland's Autism charity, AsIAm is committed to ensuring every Autistic person is accepted "as they are" — equal, valued, and respected.
