This trip was a big deal for my fiancée and I and also for her parents. When my fiancée and I first started dating, we already dreamed about traveling to #Iceland together. So over two years later we finally did it! We also took along her mom and dad because her mom had dreamt about going to Iceland ever since she was fourteen years old. It was a big dream come true for her!

In this episode, we go to the relaxing Myvatn Nature Baths for the entire morning. It was incredible, so relaxing and I felt like a new person after we left 😂 After that we made our way to Ásbyrgi canyon, a glacial canyon in the north of Iceland. Legend has it that Odin's eight-legged horse touched the ground with one of its feet and formed the canyon. Though, it was most likely formed by catastrophic glacial flooding of the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum after the last Ice Age, first 8-10,000 years ago, and then again some 3,000 years ago. Afterwards, we visited Europe's most powerful waterfall, #Dettifoss! The falls are 100 metres (330 ft) wide and have a drop of 44 metres (144 ft) down to the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. It is the largest waterfall in Iceland in terms of volume discharge, having an average water flow of 193 m³/s. It was at this place that I decided to ask Elisabeth to marry me. And so I did, and she said ... YES! It was a very emotional moment for us. Iceland was the place that we had dreamt of going to together for so long and the last few months of my planning and preparation built up to this moment. Looking back, I find it astounding that I picked the most powerful waterfall in Europe to ask her to marry me. Now in the present time of when I am posting this, it is the middle of May 2019 and we are getting married next month! Alright, enough of that. After the #marriage proposal, we drove to our super cute cabin near Egilsstaðir.
