How the game works:

Pitchside Pursuit is the ultimate Football quiz gameshow that requires quick thinking and strategy. Each episode, a new contestant steps up to challenge themselves against the clock, their football knowledge and the ever growing leaderboard. Here’s how the game works. Contestants will participate in five challenging rounds, each testing different aspects of their football knowledge. Every round offers a chance to earn points, but how well you score depends on your football expertise and the decisions you make under pressure. It’s not just about knowing the facts; it’s about being quick, precise and strategic. The contestant also has the opportunity to apply a x2 multiplier to any given round, meaning their points will be doubled . However, this can only be activated before that round begins, and it can only be used once. At the end of the episode, the points will be tallied and added to the golden leaderboard; showcasing all of the other contestants who have taken part this season.


The 5 rounds:

Who am I?
In this round, I’ll be thinking of a famous footballer- past or present- and the contestants task is to guess who it the player is. However, they will only be given 10 clues. If they guess the player right on the first clue, they get 10 points. However, if they get it right on the last clue, you they 1 point. The contestant only has 3 attempts at guessing the player. However, after the third wrong guess, they automatically get 0 points.

Spotkick Selection
In this round, I will present the contestant with a Football question. Their job is to find as many correct answers as possible. Out of the 16 boxes presented, only 10 of them will be correct. For each correct answer, they will earn 1 point. But here’s the catch- once a wrong guess is made, the round ends. All of the points that were previously accumulated will be safe and added to the total.

Quickfire Kickoff
For round 3, we have Quickfire Kickoff. In this round, the contestant will be given the choice of two
categories. Once a category has been selected, the contestant will be asked 5 questions specific to that category. Each question has four possible answers, but only one is correct. 2 points for each
correct answer.

Precision Play
For the fourth round, we have Precision Play. The contestant be given a statement and five possible
answers, and while all of the options are technically correct, their aim is to choose the most
relevant answer. If they guess the correct answer on their first go, they receive 10 points. If
incorrect, they must keep guessing until right answer is chosen. Guessing the correct answer
on their 5th go will award them with 2 points

60 Second Quiz
Finally, round 5 consists of a 60 second quiz. The contestant will have 60 seconds to answer as many football questions correctly. Each right answer awards 1 point. If the contestant answers a question incorrectly, they will simply receive 0 points and this will not affect their score.
