February 2026 Keynote Series - Extreme Makeover: Learning Center Edition!

Описание: Robin Sakonyi is the Director of the Learning Commons at Thiel College in Greenville, PA. Hannah Keeling is the Coordinator of Peer-Led Learning for the Thiel College Learning Commons.

In 2020, Thiel College began the process of re-imagining the Learning Commons. Though resources and guidance were limited, the team transformed the center into a bustling hub of student activity. But the Learning Commons’ comprehensive makeover isn’t done yet!

We’ll tell the story of how Thiel’s center found its footing and continues to develop, and how we addressed the following topics:
• Professional personnel and job description changes
• Platform changes, including adopting Accudemia
• Physical space changes
• Implementation of sensory studios
• Peer-led learning program changes
• Marketing efforts
• Student-staff development

This session will be laced with practical ideas that other small learning centers can implement, and will discuss real-world solutions to real-world learning center problems. Come learn how your center can also receive its own extreme makeover!
