This is a friendly reminder to be kind to those around you and those in need. Whether they speak your language fluently or not, a little bit of kindness goes a long way.
Part of me also made this video, but despite taking Spanish lessons in school for over 10 years, I've ALWAYS been so self-conscious and afraid to practice Spanish. This was my first time really conversing in Spanish, and I'm so proud of myself for being able to converse (if even only a little bit) in Spanish to someone in Mexico.
I also know that some people believe that you shouldn't go to a place where you aren't fluent in the language, but I think that prohibits people from some really amazing experiences and development. There's plenty of ways to communicate enough to get by as a traveler.
Also, disclaimer, I support being a prepared and cautious traveler. Be safe out there!
