How to start your Subaru when the key fob battery is dead.
1. Release the key from within the fob by pressing in on the silver square on the back of the fob while simultaneously pulling on the key ring.
2. Unlock the driver door with the key and replace the key into the fob.
3. Open the door - the alarm will go off, that is normal.
4. Get in your Subaru, depress the brake pedal and press and hold the fob into the start button.
5. Release and Press the start button with the key fob once the light on the button goes green.
6. Drive to your nearest automotive shop and get a new battery installed in the key fob.
