The ninth edition of the T20 Women's Asia Cup is set to begin in Sri Lanka on July 19. This marks Nepal's third participation in the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2024
Nepal's Fixtures:
19th July: Nepal vs UAE
21st July: Nepal vs Pakistan
23rd July: Nepal vs India
As they participate for the third time, Nepal is in search of their first victory. Despite having participated in the Asia Cup in 2012 and 2016, Nepal has yet to secure a win in the eight matches they have played so far.
In their first participation in the 2012 Asia Cup held in China, Nepal lost all three group stage matches. In their second participation in the 2016 Asia Cup held in Thailand, Nepal lost all five matches played in the round-robin league format.
In their first participation, Nepal lost the first match against Sri Lanka by 20 runs. In the second match, Nepal was defeated by Bangladesh by 9 wickets. In the third match, Nepal was defeated by host China by 45 runs, ending the tournament without a win.
Nepal's second participation was in the 2016 tournament held in Thailand. In this round-robin league format, Nepal lost all five matches.
In the first match, Nepal was defeated by Pakistan by 9 wickets. In the second match, Nepal lost to Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. In the third match, Nepal was defeated by Bangladesh by 92 runs. In the fourth match, Nepal lost to host Thailand by 8 wickets. In the fifth and final match of the tournament, Nepal was defeated by India by 99 runs.
