Описание: 강보라 작가는 '스크린 위의 대기(Atmosphere on Screen)' 프로젝트를 통해 판화의 새로운 해석을 시도한다. 멕시코에서 생활하며 7개월 동안 진행된 이번 프로젝트는 실크스크린의 면 망사(샤)를 ‘막’ 또는 ‘레이어’로 바라보고 나노 거미줄 기술에서의 ‘필터’ 역할로 해석하였다. 미세먼지가 많은 날에는 여러 겹의 스크린을, 적은 날에는 단일 판을 사용하여 작업을 진행하였다. 50개의 실크스크린 판을 이용하여 감광되지 못하고 뚫려 있는 미세한 망을 통해 잉크 또는 빛을 투과시켜 추상적 형상을 기록하였다.
이는 작가가 지속적으로 진행해온 작은 입자들이 모여 큰 우주를 형성하는 작업의 세계관과 연결되며, 멕시코에서 수집한 이미지를 드로잉하고 판으로 옮기는 과정을 통해 작가의 일상을 기록하는 동시에, 보이지 않는 미세먼지를 은유적으로 표현하였다. 또한 선명한 이미지와 흐릿한 이미지의 대비를 통해 미세먼지의 존재를 예술적 언어로 재해석하였다.

Kang Bora attempted a new interpretation of printmaking through her project, Atmosphere on Screen. Over the course of seven months while living in Mexico, Kang reexamined the fabric mesh of silkscreen (tulle) as a "membrane" or "layer," interpreting it as a "filter" akin to those used in nanospider technology. She used multiple layers of screens on days with high levels of fine dust, while a single screen was employed on days with lower levels. Fifty silkscreen plates, with their unsensitized and perforated fine mesh, allowed ink or light to pass through, capturing abstract forms.
This project connects with the artist's ongoing exploration of the worldview in which small particles gather to form a vast universe. By drawing and transferring images collected in Mexico onto the plates, Kang not only recorded her daily life but also metaphorically represented invisible fine dust. The contrast between sharp and blurred images served to reinterpret the presence of fine dust through an artistic lens.
