#2 Learning the basics by cruising the UK south coast

Описание: This is our second episode of our journey sailing around the world by starting out in the tidal waters of the solent and south coast of the UK. We learn the basics of how to cruise by exploring Yarmouth, Swange Bay, Weymouth, Studland Bay and Lymington Harbour before heading back to Haslar in Portsmouth. It was a great fun trip with Brendan's mum aka 'Me Julie' who was stuck to the helm most of the week! Hey guys! We're Brendan and Janine. We have fallen in love with the idea of sailing around the world, retiring from the 9 to 5 rat race, and sharing our journey and experiences with our family, friends, and you.

We got engaged in 2016 while on a sailing holiday in Croatia, and have since been planning to retire and set sail around the world. We have been learning all we can by attending boat shows and blue water seminars, watching inspirational YouTube of sailors who have gone before us, and reading as many sailing books as we can find.

We started this channel to share our our preparation for retirement and sailing and have already discovered that there are so many boats to choose from, sailing equipment to think about for living off-grid, ways to save, and wonderful places to visit albeit some more pet friendly than others.

Join us as we figure out boat mortgages, boat insurance, retirement saving schemes, trade winds and pirate risk, how to anchor, why headroom on board is going to be very important for Brendan, and why a catamaran is our chosen home.
