Hard Wood with tight grains like maple, cherry or walnut or Baltic Birch Plywood
Inexpensive Acrylic Craft Paints (for a specific reason)
Shellac Wood Sealer

paper towels (ripped in small pieces)
Sandpaper (180 and 220 grit)

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Respirator rated for chemical fumes
Nitrile gloves
Eye goggles
Dust mask
Hearing protection

Tools:
Laser engraver
Hand Sander
Air Compressor with nozzle (you can use compressed air or even a straw)

Heat Gun
Utility Knife
Plastic Risers (I just use tops to my Stoks iced coffee)
Bubble level
