India, Brazil set $30-billion trade target, expand strategic cooperation

In a special briefing, the MEA said the visit marked a significant step in deepening India–Brazil ties across trade, critical minerals, digital public infrastructure and global governance. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in exploration and processing of critical and rare earth minerals, with Brazil inviting Indian participation in tapping its vast reserves.
Both countries also explored collaboration in digital public infrastructure, including potential linkages between India’s UPI system and Brazil’s Pix payment platform, alongside joint work in Artificial Intelligence applications in governance and public services.
