Описание: EXERCISE-13.3 Q8. Draw two circles with radii 3.5 cm and 2 cm. If their Centers are 6 cm apart, then draw two transverse common tangents.
Steps of Construction:
1. Draw a line segment OO' of length 6 cm.
2. Draw two circles of radii 3.5 cm and 2 cm with Centers at points O and O'.
3. Find mid-point M of OO' by drawing perpendicular bisector of OO'.
4.Taking point M as Centre and radius equal to mMO=mMO' draw a circle.
5. Draw another circle with O as Centre and radius equal to 3.5cm+2cm=5.5cm,
cutting the circle with Centre M at points P and Q.
6. Join O with P and Q. OP and OQ meet the first circle with radius 3.5 cm at points A and B .
7. Draw O' Q'∥OP and (O' P')∥(OQ) . O' Q' and O' P' intersect the circle with
radius 2 cm at points B' and A' respectively.
8. Join A with B' and A' with B so that AB' and A'B are the required common tangents.
