The Penang national park is located on the north west of the Penang Island. Just a few minutes drive from the thriving area of George Town, this park shows strong signs of decay after two years of Covid 19 Pandemic. The decline in tourism has left its mark on the area and many former thriving businesses have gone under.

With tourists staying away, life has found its way back to the park and it has been the place with the most wildlife encounters we had in all of Malaysia. The tracks along the path feel deserted and you are thrown back into a time before mass tourism.

Monkeys play among the tree-tops and on the beaches. Trees and plants overgrow the paths and giant lizards rest in the warm sun.
