The International Poetry Forum is a historic reading series founded in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1966. Alumni of the nonprofit organization represent 50+ countries and count nine Nobel Laureates, 14 Academy Award recipients, 28 U.S. Poets Laureate, 39 National Book Award winners, and 47 Pulitzer Prize winners—as well as a Princess, a Queen, and a Steelers Super Bowl MVP.
Notable participants include legends like Princess Grace of Monaco, James Earl Jones, Gregory Peck, Queen Noor of Jordan, Gwendolyn Brooks, Seamus Heaney, Kurt Vonnegut, Brooke Shields, Danny Glover, Mary Oliver, Mary Karr, Judy Collins, Yusef Komunyakaa, Jorge Luis Borges, Derek Walcott, Elizabeth Bishop, Lucille Clifton, W.H. Auden, and hundreds more.
This event was presented on April 15, 2025, at Carnegie Lecture Hall in Pittsburgh. Srikanth "Chicu" Reddy is poetry editor of The Paris Review, professor at the University of Chicago, and a co-editor of the Phoenix Poets book series at the University of Chicago Press.
Srikanth Reddy’s latest book of poetry, Underworld Lit, was a finalist for the Griffin International Poetry Prize, the Poetry Society of America’s T.S. Eliot Four Quartets Prize, and a Times Literary Supplement “Book of the Year” for 2020.
