Army honors Bandipora villagers for exemplary support in tragic accident

The event recognized the selfless efforts of the locals, particularly those from S K Payeen and nearby areas, who came to the rescue during a tragic accident involving an Army vehicle last week.
The incident occurred when an Army vehicle skidded off the mountainous terrain, resulting in the death of four Army personnel and injuries to several others. Demonstrating remarkable courage and humanity, the villagers of S K Payeen promptly rushed to the accident site, providing immediate assistance and ensuring the injured soldiers were transported to the hospital without delay.
The ceremony, organized by the Indian Army, was a testament to the mutual respect and trust shared between the armed forces and the community. Brigadier Vipul Tyagi, Commander of 3 Sector, praised the villagers for their unwavering support and commitment to peace in the region. “This bond between the Awam (people) and the Army is a shining example of how harmony and mutual respect can lead to lasting progress,” Brigadier Tyagi remarked.
During the event, villagers expressed their gratitude towards the Army for its continuous efforts to uplift the community through infrastructure development, medical camps, and educational programs.
