Описание:
A slow gentle 600 metre paddle (one way) down Barnum Brook from Barnum Pond to the dock at Paul Smith’s VIC canoe launch. Beyond this point the brook quickly narrows and becomes strewn with deadfalls and boulders - finally emptying into Heron Marsh. The Brook traverses a typical Adirondack fen – peatland with sphagnum and other low bog vegetation as well as scattered Black Spruce and Tamarack trees. In early June when this video was made, dragonflies were plentiful.
Barnum Brook can be accessed by paddling across Barnum Pond from the boat launch on Highway 30.
