Mount Snowdon

Описание: An ascent of Mt Snowdon via Crib Goch from the Pen-Y-Pass car park.

What a day heading up Mt Snowdon. The weather managed to stay ideal for us on this ascent which certainly made the difficult scramble up Crib Goch a little easier. We were in good spirits and even managed to get a little drone footage in between the crowds.
After the summit of Garnedd Ugain, we walked the mountain path over to Mt Snowdon summit where we had around a 40 minute wait to take our turn on the summit for photos. Not ideal but we were expecting it to be busy. We managed to grab some lunch after this in the shelter of the summit café.
On the descent after lunch, i found the going to be pretty good. There are some larger boulders/steps to negotiate but nothing serious. We had originally planned on doing the full horseshoe which would’ve taken in the ridge of Y-Lliwedd and Lliwedd Bach but due to the issue with the car park and the delays at the summit of Snowdon there simply wasn’t enough time for us. I faired better than my last walk on the descent and my knees felt not too bad either.

As with my last video I didn't feel too exhausted at the finish as i think the less strenuous stroll back down the main track managed to sooth some aches before i got to the car park and on the bus.

To date this has probably been one of my most enjoyable walks. Between the scramble/climb to Crib Goch then the ridge walk along it made for a memorable experience. I would recommend really knowing what you’re getting into prior to attempting the climb and ridge walk. Fortunately we had the chance to talk with people who have done it and gave us some great tips and advice along with their personal thoughts on difficulty.

Overall, a fantastic day and camp at Beddgelert Campsite and a very memorable trip with friends.
