Marathon Key Florida! Getting out of the Nebraska cold for 70 deg weather!
We booked in a great little marina at Banana Bay resort on the North side of Marathon key. Great access to sailing, snorkeling, and of course great resturants!
We took a day to motor out to Sombraro reef to snorkle on a super calm day. 77 degree water, and air temperature, it was heavenly! Even though is was calm winds, the boat chop at the reef was insane. After getting a bit seasick from bobbing around eating lunch, we got in the water which cured the motion sickness.
Our boat is a 1999 MacGregor 26X, 26ft Hybrid motor/sailer. We have a 50 horse Honda outboard so we can cruise along at 10-15 knots no problem!
I grew up rigging and sailing MacGregors through my father's boat dealership- Super Sport Marine in Kearney Nebraska. He still sells custom trailers for MacGregors - www.supersail.com
