A quick video showing how to program a brand new MPS (Monolithic Power Systems) MP2884/6/8B using the EVKT-USBI2C-02 programmer. I ran into some issues while trying to program a new MP2884B for a 3080 FE I was working on, and figured I would post the solution.
This is assuming you already have the programmer, have saved the firmware from the previous chip (or have a known good version of the firmware for that chip for that card), and have it connected and ready to flash the new chip. You also need to power the 5v rail with an external power supply.
The problem seems obvious watching the video but I didn't know what needed to be done at the time. There is no manual that I could find for the program, so I had to figure it out on my own. I hope that someone else that runs into this same issue will find this video!
