Orange Chicken (Takeout-Style)
Ingredients
Chicken
• 1½ lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
• Salt & black pepper
• ½ cup cornstarch
• 2 eggs, beaten
• Oil for frying
Orange Sauce
• Zest of 1 orange
• ¾ cup fresh orange juice (or bottled)
• ½ cup sugar
• 3 tbsp soy sauce
• 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
• 1 tbsp grated ginger (or 1 tsp ground)
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp cornstarch
• ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional heat)

Instructions
1. Prep chicken
• Season chicken lightly with salt & pepper.
• Coat with cornstarch, then dip in egg.
2. Fry chicken
• Heat oil to 350°F.
• Fry chicken in batches until golden and crispy (3–4 minutes).
• Drain on paper towels.
3. Make orange sauce
• In a saucepan, whisk orange zest, juice, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes.
• Simmer over medium heat, stirring until thick and glossy (2–4 minutes).
4. Combine
• Add fried chicken to a large pan or wok.
• Pour sauce over chicken and toss quickly until coated.
5. Serve hot
• Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
