Here is one of United’s side loaders seen on the Monday route in Bradley. A few years ago Republic was contracted for the whole town, but after numerous service issues and interruptions throughout the length of the contract, the town decided to implement an open market system when the contract expired to incentivize better service and more competitive pricing. United has been slowly growing a route within the town, and without giving too much away they have a pretty diverse fleet that they use for their residential routes. I thought it was super cool to see this truck handling a route of both regular containers and 300 gallon bins- something that is generally very un-Illinois. Though I didn’t get many of them on video this truck was still very fun to watch, albeit a little difficult to follow given the distance between stops but being all grid alleys in this section it wasn’t terrible. I hope to be able to revisit again soon to see what else they run on these routes, but for now I hope you all enjoy the video!
