Taking a look at the new Holbein RP-24 palette for making an "Expansion palette"!

Описание: Let's take a first-impressions look together at the Holbein RP-24 watercolour palette, which I plan to make into an "expansion palette". More about that in a future video! For now I'll take you through the features of this palette, why they are useful to me in my art practice, and some of the technical info like palette dimensions! This isn't a review so much as a first-look, as I like to really know a thing inside out through continuous use before forming a full opinion on it.

Over time I have noticed things that make me happier when painting, and one of those things is using slanted (or sloping) wells. For some reason using them makes the process of painting much more enjoyable to me. However, when it comes to storing paint I like the flexibility of using pans. With half pans and full pans you can take them out of a palette and move them around easily. When I was first coming up with the ideas for what I want in an expansion palette (the term being inspired by the artist Victoria Gedvillas), I realised I would need to make a compromise between the two. Or do I? Enter this palette 😎

Something that is important to me in my practice as well is being mindful about using, reusing, and rehoming art supplies. I go over that a little bit in regards to palettes and reusing old paint towards the end of the video.
