Описание: Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan died on April 17, 1975 in Chennai. He was the second President of the country. He assumed the presidency on May 13, 1962. When Nehru became the country's first Prime Minister after the country's independence in 1947, he requested Radhakrishnan to serve as ambassador to Soviet Russia. Believing Nehru, he worked as a member of the Constituent Assembly from 1947 to 1949 and then remained India's Ambassador to Russia until 1952.He was also the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University from 1953 to 1962. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel Prize 27 times. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888. His birth anniversary is celebrated as National Teacher's Day in the country.
