After finishing lunch at Pelham Bay Park, I work my way southbound on the (6) Line. Since this was taken in the early afternoon, this was a reverse peak run. During weekday mornings, reverse peak service runs in the northbound direction and during weekday afternoons and evenings, reverse peak service runs in the southbound direction. This line has childhood written all over it for me because originally, my former caretaker lived on the (6) Line until late 2009, when she moved to Wakefield on the (2) Line. Back when she lived on the (6) Line, the line was filled with R142As and they were a fun part of my childhood too. Starting in 2012, most of the R142As that were assigned to the (6) Line got converted into R188s for service on the (7) Line for CBTC on the IRT 42 St Line 🟣 and the IRT Flushing Line. In exchange, the R62As that were assigned to the (7) got transferred over to the (6) and in my humble opinion, I think the R62As run nicely on the (6) Line and I like them. They are reliable and it helped enhance service on both the (6) and (7) Lines respectively. The remaining R142As were moved over to the (4) Line and they run well on the line, although they can get washed a little better. It was difficult to believe the Spring Break and game nights with Gus were over after the previous night. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this run through The Bronx and Manhattan.
