Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accused Congress, Communist party of misleading people of Kerala regarding the FCRA bill. The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill was set to be moved in the parliament today

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, regulates the acceptance and utilisation of foreign contributions by NGOs. The controversy erupted because the amendment gives the Centre the power to appoint an authority to control funds when the FCRA certificate is cancelled or surrendered. While speaking in the Lok Sabha, he said the FCRA (Amendment) Bill is not against any religions or organisations

Kiren Rijiju said that the FCRA Bill would not be taken up in the Lok Sabha today. Opposition MPs protested against the Bill in Parliament premises.
