After Mikao Usui’s passing in 1926, his students continued to share Reiki in Japan. One of them, Chujiro Hayashi, developed a structured approach to Reiki practice and began training others.
Among his students was Hawayo Takata, a Japanese-Hawaiian woman who brought Reiki to the West in the late 1930s. Through her dedication, Reiki began to spread across North America and beyond, adapting while still holding true to its spiritual roots.
Today, Reiki is practised worldwide in many forms, yet its heart remains the same — a loving connection to universal life force energy that supports healing, balance, and peace.
