This is a delicious meat pie recipe. It has rich flaky buttery crust and packed with flavor. So tasty😋
STEP 1
PIE FILLING (INGREDIENTS)
■3lb Lean Ground Beef
■1 Diced Bell Pepper
■1tsp Ginger Paste
■1tbsp Barbecue Sauce
■1tbsp Flour
■3 tbsp Veg. Oil
■1/4 Cup water
■1 Chopped Onion
■2tbsp Paprika
■1tsp All Purpose Seasoning
■1/4tsp Cajun Seasoning
■2tbsp Black Pepper
■1/4 tsp Flavor Enhancer
■1 Beef Bullion
METHOD
■Heat up oil & sauté diced onion.
■Add a tsp ginger paste.
■Add ground beef to sautéed onion
■Mince meat with a fork to prevent lumps.
■Add diced green bell pepper
■Add all seasonings.
■Constantly stir to prevent lumps.
■ Add a tbsp of barbecue sauce & stir.
■ Mix a tbsp of flour to 1/4 cup water .
■Add to cooked meat to bind everything together.
■Keep stirring till it thickens.
■ Let it cool completely before use.
STEP 2
PIE CRUST ( INGREDIENTS)
■2 Cups cold salted butter
■4 Cups flour
■2 tbsp cold water
■Chopped green onion(use only leaves)
■2 Eggs
METHOD
■In a mixing bowl, add 4 cups of flour.
■ Cut butter in cubes & mix with flour until crumbly.
■Add eggs & mix gently.
■Add 2tbsp cold water
■ Bring it together to form a dough.
■ Divide in two & wrap in a plastic wrap
■Refrigerate for 30min
■ Roll out dough after refrigerating
■Cut out dough in circles or squares/use pie cutter.
■ Fill in with the meat filling
■ Top it off with some chopped green onion.
■Brush the edges with cold water & cover with the other half of dough.
■ Pokes holes in dough to allow ventilation
■ Brush the top with egg wash (1egg yolk
and 1tbsp of water, mix well)
■Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for
40- 45min.
