Yes. These books are hyped. They sing their praises all across multiple platforms. These are popular books on bookstagram, book twitter, booktube and on several blogs as well, but confession time, I wasn't a fan of some and I hated quite a lot of them. Whether it's me dealing with the popularity of a Curse so Dark and Lonely where everybody seems to love it and don't notice the "not like other girls trope", or it's the irrationality of the decisions taken in Girls of Paper and Fire, or the sheer character assassination of Children of Virtue and Vengenace, or my constant annoyance at the Magicians, let's just say these books are living testament to just how subjective reading can be!
