Among the performers at the opening ceremony are Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, The Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Boz Scaggs and Bruce Springsteen to name a few.

September 3 1969: The 30th Elvis Presley movie, "The Trouble With Girls (And How To Get Into It)", is released.

September 5 1998, Aerosmith get their first US No.1 single with the Diane Warren written song 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' from the 1998 film Armageddon.

Michael was joined by among others, Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Britney Spears, *NSYNC and Destiny's Child to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his solo singing career.
