China, Nepal to Enhance Multi-Field Cooperation

Описание: Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav during the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in South China's Hainan Province on Saturday, pledging to enhance cooperation between the countries.

Welcoming Yadav to the annual conference, Xi said China and Nepal are close friendly neighbors. China respects the friendship with Nepal and the two countries will support and respect each other politically, share the common development and economical prosperity, and rely on each other for security.

This is the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Nepal, Xi said, China will hold various events with Nepal to celebrate the anniversary so as to develop the Sino-Nepal relations under the new situation.

China and Nepal should strengthen the interconnectivity and enhance cooperation in fields such as infrastructures, hydroelectric development, modern agriculture and science, said Xi.

China will start the negotiation of Free Trade Agreement with Nepal as soon as possible and welcomes Nepal to join the construction of the "One Belt and One Road" initiatives.

Xi said China appreciates that Nepal gives consistent firm support to China's core interests such as issues related to Tibet and Taiwan. China hopes Nepal will prohibit any forces to use Nepal for anti-China activities.

Yadav said Nepal would never be allowed to be used for anti-China activities by any force. Nepal thanks for China's supports to Nepal's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Nepal firmly supports the "One Belt and One Road" initiatives and the construction of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Nepal hopes to strengthen the cooperation between China and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation so as to boost the local interconnectivity and economic development, said Yadav.
