This video reviews the formulas for finite and an infinite geometric series. Essentially, both formulas work the same way, with "a" as the starting term, "r" as the common ratio, and "n" as the number of terms.
The video demonstrates that as the number of terms approaches infinity, the finite formula approaches the formula for an infinite geometric sum. This assumes that the common ration is greater than negative 1 and less than 1.
In other words, in the limit as n approaches infinity, the formula for a finite geometric series becomes the same formula as that for the infinite geometric series.
