DC DC converter in electric vehicles

In this video let us understand about DC-DC converters in electric vehicles. DC to DC converter converts high voltages to lower voltages to run the other auxiliary electrical loads on vehicles. Such DC-DC converter is known as buck converter (step down)
In some applications like a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the dc-dc can be run in reverse to boost the power to assist in starting vehicle or to provide backup power. Such DC-DC converter is known as boost converter (step up). This requires the DC-DC converter to have bidirectional capability.
A Buck-Boost combines the functions of a buck converter (used for DC voltage step-down) and a boost converter (used for DC voltage step-up).
