The Carl Goldberg J3 Piper Cub has a 4S 500KV brushless motor and a 60A Turnigy ESC, running a 4S 6400mAh LiPo. It has a 13x8.5 prop for improved performance capable of 2.5kg of thrust drawing 36 Amps.
Flight Review:
Takeoff from the southern runway was smooth with a slight clip of grass on lift-off but no loss of control. The Cub climbed out cleanly and trimmed easily into a steady cruise with smooth control response.
Mid-flight, I explored throttle management and coordination. The plane held its line in slow circuits, showing that same forgiving low-speed nature that makes the Cub such a calm and balanced flyer. Throught the flight I give live commentary of all flight controls.
The highlight was the gliding test, feathering the prop and braking the motor to reduce drag. The Cub descended silently and under control, touching down to call it a day.
