This is something I have used to repair quite a few turntables and it has taken a while to get to the point I can do it 4 out of 5 times. As long as you take your time drilling a small amount and check the fitting it should be ok. Then take more time on the glue up as that would make a mess of everything. This works for the top and bottom bearings and the top is just the same make it flush with the top of the metal.

bearings are MR52ZZ 5mm OD 2mm ID and 2.5mm depth.
